ALPHARETTA, GA — The Alpharetta restaurant owned by larger-than-life TV personality, Jon Taffer, will honor the late Betty White with a donation to a local animal shelter.

The iconic actress and animal rights activist died at home on New Year's Eve. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday Monday, Jan. 17.

White attributed her long and healthy life to her love of hot dogs and vodka and was a lifelong animal activist.

As such, Taffer’s Tavern said it will donate a portion of its vodka cocktail and chili dog sales on White's birthday to the animal nonprofit, Atlanta Humane Society.

"Betty White was a national treasure who gifted us with joy and laughter for nearly a century,” Taffer said in a news release. “She lived her life in a way that is an inspiration to us all, so what better way to celebrate her life than by enjoying her favorite food and drink on what would have been her 100th birthday, and at the same time giving back to a cause so near and dear to her heart. As someone who shares her passion for the welfare of animals, we are honored to make this donation to such a worthwhile organization as the Atlanta Humane Society.”
