Taffer’s Tavern, the innovative tavern concept founded by leading hospitality expert and star of Paramount Network’s Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer, opens in award-winning Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Nov. 20, 2022 when the Atlanta Falcons take on the Chicago Bears.
The new stadium location is the second Taffer’s Tavern location for the brand’s first franchisees, Five Guys Taverns LLC, who opened the first Taffer’s Tavern in October 2020 in Alpharetta, Georgia.
“With the quick success we’ve had with our first location, it was an easy decision to open another restaurant as soon as possible,” says Hemant Suri, a partner in Five Guys Taverns LLC. “The opportunity to not only come to Atlanta, but to serve fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium was a perfect fit.”
Taffer’s Tavern represents the first innovation in full-service restaurants in a decade. With its “kitchen of the future,” which relies on fast-cooking techniques and reduces labor and operational expenses, it’s ideally suited to non-traditional locations like stadiums and airports where quality food coupled with quick service is key.
“Taffer’s Tavern was engineered to change the entire way a restaurant can be run,” says Jon Taffer. “The way we’ve redesigned the kitchen, operations and customer service means that a Taffer’s Tavern can be successful in many forms from a full-service stand-alone restaurant to a concessionaire outlet. I’m thrilled to bring our elevated tavern menu to the fans in Atlanta.”
The location at Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the second concessionaire location for Taffer’s Tavern. The brand also operates at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, home to the Washington Commanders. The location at Mercedes Benz Stadium will feature a pared down menu highlighting fan favorites like slow cooked pork belly glazed with Asian BBQ sauce, chicken wings, chicken tenders, coconut crusted shrimp and French fries tossed with truffle sauce. Taffer’s Tavern is taking over the former Gamechangers location at section 223 in the stadium.
